The Cannon Wilderness Park consists of approximately 850 acres of wooded river valley. The Wilderness Park is located four miles north of Faribault and extends along both sides of the Cannon River to a point about five miles south of Northfield.

Cannon Wilderness Park features are as follows:
  • Five miles of hiking and horseback trails
  •     Picnic area complete with a shelter
  • Port-a-potty (May through October) 
  • No running water 
  • Wood beam footbridge built across the Cannon River
  • Four primitive campsites
  • Canoe launch to the Cannon River
Cannon Wilderness Rules and Regulations:
  • 3 Day Max
  • The sites are first come basis no reservations
  • Garbage's will not be provided. Anything brought in will need to be removed (This includes all items brought in.)
  • Fire ring at each site (follow DNR rules on firewood)
  • Cannot burn any wood from the park
