[ARCHIVED] 5th Annual Faribault Farmers’ Market Family Day

 The Faribault Farmers’ Market is celebrating their fifth annual Family Day from 9 a.m. till noon on Saturday, September 14 at 430 2nd Ave NW, Central Park. Activities include:

  • University of Minnesota Extension and 4-H will have games, recipes, activities, prizes, and animals.
  • Faribault Chamber of Commerce and the Virtues Project will be distributing books.
  • Rice County Public Health Child & Teen Checkup will have goodies and interactive health games.
  • Allina Health and Jennie-O Turkey Store will have market vouchers for children.
  • Free face painting.
  • Take a selfie with the carrot and pea mascots.
  • Cap your morning off by jumping in the bounce house sponsored by the City of Faribault.
  • You can also stop by booths and chat with Northfield Hospital & Clinics, Fare for All, Faribault Community School, Rice County United Way, River Bend Nature Center, Mayo Clinic Health System and others!

Rice County Public Health - Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP) is supporting the Faribault Farmers’ Market Family Day.

“It’s fun to partner with the Faribault Farmers’ Market to help make the healthy choices easier,” says Josh Ramaker, Rice County SHIP Coordinator.

Launched in 2008 as part of Minnesota’s bipartisan health reform effort, SHIP works to help Minnesotans live longer, healthier lives while building healthy, vital communities. SHIP encourages healthy eating, active living, breastfeeding and avoiding commercial tobacco by working with schools, communities, workplaces, and healthcare to make healthy choices easier.
