Storm Related Debris Management - Rice County Solid Waste
As clean up from the recent storm continues for Rice County residents, we want to provide an update on yard waste disposal at the Rice County Solid Waste Facility.Acceptable Yard Waste includes: Leaves, Brush, Grass Clippings, Branches, Twigs,Garden ResidueUnacceptable Yard Waste includes: NO bags (unless it’s compostable), NO lumber, NO rocks, NO stumps.
Rice County Solid Waste Facility also accepts demolition waste, municipal solid waste, appliances, electronics, and tires for a fee. Household Hazardous Waste is also accepted at no charge provided it is coming from a household in Rice County.
The Rice County Solid Waste Facility will be open extended hours, Thursday and Friday 7:30 am-4:30 pm September 27-28 and Saturday, September 29, 7:30 am-1:00 pm. Burning Yard Waste: We also wish to remind those who wish to burn yard waste to obtain a permit from the DNR. Permits can be applied for at this website https://webapps15.dnr.state.mn.us/burning-permits
